A Pike County girl has been reported missing since Tuesday. Faith Woods, age 15, reportedly left school at Eastern Local Schools in Beaver on Tuesday and has not been seen since then. Please call 911 or the Pike County Sheriff’s Office at 740-947-2111 if you see her or have info.

Pike County mother faced a judge today after prosecutors say a video that circulated shows her allowing her stepdaughter to be attacked

WAVERLY, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — A Pike County mother faced a judge Wednesday after prosecutors say a video showed her allowing her stepdaughter to be attacked.

Lindsay Freeland was accused of telling her older children to punch her 6-year-old stepdaughter. Prosecutors said video showed that the girl was hit 45 times.

Two arrested for outstanding warrants after high speed pursuit

According to report by the Ohio State Highway Patrol a vehicle pursuit that led to two people being arrested took place Monday afternoon in Ross County. A Honda Civic, which had been reported stolen, was located by a Trooper traveling on Three Locks Road and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle did not stop and a pursuit ensued onto that streched several miles across Eastern Avenue, Rt 35 and 50.

The driver lost control of the vehicle while intentionally making contact with the OSP vehicle and crashed on US 50 west of Sugar Run Road.

The driver and passenger were both taken into custody without incident. The driver was 18-year-old Blake Ison of Chillicothe and the passenger, was 23-year-old Shelzee Martin of Beaver. Both were transported to Adena Medical Center for precautionary purposes.

The latest- 2 seriously injured in US Rt 23 crash Wednesday night- NB 23 closed

Scanner traffic indicated two people were seriously injured in the three auto motor vehicle accident at the intersection of US Route 23 and Blackwater Road in Green Township. Units were still on scene working and extrication at the 10:00 hour. One lane of US 23 southbound is currently open. Names or cause of the auto accident have not been released.

Parts of US Rt 23 to be closed for demolition work


On Sunday, March 24th, both southbound lanes of U.S. 23 will be closed, and the closure will in effect from approximately 10 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday, March 25th. Then, the following night, both northbound lanes will be closed from approximately 10 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday, March 26th.

Overdoses causing havoc in South Central Ohio Friday Night

Drug overdoses are causing havoc across South Central Ohio so far early Friday evening. Two overdoses were reported in Chillicothe in the eight o’clock hour and one in Worthington near Columbus in front of Thomas Worthington High School on SR 161 as a driver overdosed and caused an automobile accident.
